ABOUT: Puzzle Adventures are games that combine storytelling, exploration and problem-solving. They exist at the intersection between tabletop games, escape rooms and interactive fiction. Each game allows the players to engage with an immersive story and gameplay whilst solving various challenges & puzzles.

CASE STUDY:ASCENSION

Title: Ascension
Commissioned by: Anniviers Tourisme and the Society of Development of St-Luc.
The brief: Create a self-guided game inspired by Ernest Griolet, a local historical figure.

"Ascension" is based on Ernest Griolet (1819–1908), an alpinist, archaeologist, and benefactor of St-Luc. In 1866, he organised a day of celebration to lay the first stone of a lighthouse he dreamed of building at the summit of Bella Tola. Players follow the historical route, relive the festivities, and solve seven puzzles to unlock the reward.

Title: Royal Heist
Commissioned by: Sharky & George for Accel
The brief: Create a self-guided game inspired by the Middle-Ages.

“Royal Heist” is a puzzle adventure x boardgame x whodunnit story. In it, the player learns that the main character, the Queen, has been attacked and must find the culprit!
